“Anything Goes” takes place aboard the luxury ocean liner, the S.S. American, and tells the tale of the glamorous and witty nightclub singer and former Evangelist, Reno Sweeney as she travels to England from New York. On board the ship she is accompanied by her friend Billy Crocker, who is stowed away, in order to attempt to win the hand of his true love, Hope Harcourt, a wealthy, beautiful and charming heiress. Sadly, the wonderful Ms Harcourt is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, an incredibly wealthy aristocrat.
